Commercial real estate company AB Baltic Shopping Centers was founded by German investors in 1996. It was one of the first companies to actively invest in the Lithuanian commercial real estate market and has contributed to its development significantly.
The rich experience that AB Baltic Shopping Centers has accumulated over the years has led the company to become the leading player in the Baltic market for development and management of shopping centers. Currently, the company owns the shopping center Banginis in Vilnius and the shopping and leisure center Mega in Kaunas, which is the largest center of its kind in the Baltics. The portfolio of AB Baltic Shopping Centers is estimated to be worth 500 mln. LTL.
The projects, that AB Baltic Shopping Centers is presently undertaking, include the expansion of the shopping and leisure center Mega and the development of the SPC business center. Over 2008 to 2009 the company is expected to invest in Lithuania approximately 380 mln LTL.
AB Baltic Shopping Centers is an active supporter of the Kaunas city community. The company eagerly encourages public initiatives and engages in charitable activities. The contribution of AB Baltic Centers to the development and promotion of the Vilnius - Kaunas dipole idea has often been appreciated by the local government.
The Rakauskas family have been the sole owners of the AB Baltic Shopping Centers since 2005.
